Dr. Wong was born and raised in Winnipeg. He completed his undergraduate degree and medical degree at the University of Manitoba. He completed his residency training at McGill University in Montreal. He then sought out an additional year of focused training and was accepted to the University of Manitoba Sport and Exercise Medicine enhanced skills program.

Dr. Wong was granted extensive exposure to ultrasound-guided injections/procedures during his additional year of specialized training. During that time, he was also offered a full scholarship to complete the Sport Medicine Ultrasound Canada course in Calgary. Furthermore, his interest in Global Health has led him to a Traditional Chinese Medicine exchange in China, as well as a medical imaging exchange in Romania.

Dr. Wong has both competed and coached at the Provincial, National, and World Championship (Team Canada) levels for ultimate frisbee. Off the field, he has his PADI Advanced Open Water Scuba certification. When the temperature drops, he enjoys staying active through hockey or skiing.

Throughout his training and his practice, Dr. Wong has experience working with athletes from a number of elite collegiate, National, and professional sports teams. This includes working with the Concordia Stingers Football team (U Sports), the relocated Winnipeg ICE (WHL), and the World Police and Fire Games.
